Knock, Knock? Who's there? Well, its the Polish Chicken that crossed the road (see my old post here). Well, its actually a Polish Chicken. Not sure why it's Polish?. But in addition to combs, they are adorned with large crests that nearly cover the entirety of the head. This crest limits their vision, and as a result can affect their temperament.
Before I go further, I need to credit a dear, old classmate of mine (of nearly 4 decades) with the term "bad' hair-do; to describe this fine animal. Thank you KH!
But I spotted this specimen in suburban Singapore. Enjoy!
By the way, for those who may be interested, the origins of the breed's name are uncertain. The breed could have been named after the country of Poland, but its name could have also come from the Middle Dutch word pol 'head'.
