Like the camouflage? Well, the male grouse is often known as a blackcock, and the female grouse is known as a gray hen. Often these birds are also known as the fool's hen, or a spruce hen. Quite like the chicken, but not. Then, these creatures are so shy, they depend on camouflage and stealth to fend off potential predators.
This fella here, was spotted by the road, against a rock face. Quite well hidden. Unable to fly or run away too quickly, these birds depend on camouflage as one of the means to protect themselves against potential predators. Just chuffed to see one, by the road, in Singapore!!
